MOROCCO
directed by Frank Matter, ficition, 90 min, Switzerland/USA 1996
One night, Martin, a lonely store clerk, believes he witnesses a murder. Although the police investigations prove his suspicions groundless, Martin is convinced that Laura, the young woman living across the street, has shot a man in her apartment.
In the following days, Laura’s actions reinforce Martin’s suspicions. He presents the new evidence to the police, but Laura is able to give simple explanations for all her allegedly suspicious actions. When Martin finally figures out the truth, it’s too late: he finds himself at the center of nightmarish events...
«Morocco» is a slightly surrealistic murder mystery about perception, the virtual reality in our minds, and the relation between subject and object.
